The problem
The previous collaboration hadn't worked as expected. ABC Grup was left with an unfinished product that couldn't evolve safely: the search engine returned poor results, the ERP sync was partial, and the code had no tests or structure to grow on. They needed a technology partner who could step in, understand what was there and put a clear plan in place.
Solution
Rather than rewriting from scratch, we chose an iterative approach: stabilise first, improve after. From day one we understood the existing architecture and established a continuous improvement plan.
We implemented a new search engine based on a specialised NoSQL database — customers can now find products in seconds by reference, name or brand, with filters by category and availability. We updated the platform to the latest versions of Laravel and PHP, improving security and performance. We refactored the stock system so each branch can check real-time availability across their own store and the rest of the network. We completed and improved the bidirectional integration with their ERP (GoManage): products, categories, customers, orders and delivery notes synced automatically. We opened the catalogue so it can be browsed without registration, making it easier to attract new customers. And we introduced automated testing and a modern development environment so every improvement ships with confidence.
