Starting point
Micropolix’s website was more than ten years old and had grown without a clear structure. It received over 260,000 visits, more than 80% of them from mobile, and served very different audiences with the same navigation: families, schools, groups and birthday parties. Ticket sales ran on an external application that needed to be properly integrated into the new site, and the team needed to manage content on their own.
How we approached it
We defined the new site’s architecture around its different audiences, so each could quickly find what they were looking for, and designed the interface in Figma with mobile in mind first, building on the new identity created by Moro Studio. We built it on Craft CMS with SEOmatic, using modular pages that the Micropolix team can edit without depending on us: they can put together a page, change a block or publish a promotion themselves.
We migrated the blog and activity pages from the previous site so no content was lost, and connected it to the ticketing application. Before launch we set up the test environment, analytics and cookie management, and trained the team on the content manager.
Where it stands today
The site went live in autumn 2024 and we’ve kept it maintained and growing since then through a maintenance service. Today it’s a faster site, because we’ve optimised images and video so it loads well on mobile, and a better organised one, with activity pages in a modular format and a blog with filters and related articles. We work side by side with Micropolix’s SEO agency on the technical side and have added campaign landing pages, like the Halloween one, that the team can reuse.
The team handles the day-to-day, and we make sure Craft CMS, plugins, cookie management and tracking are always up to date.
