The challenge
Shad's internal team had deep expertise in SAP and in running their traditional business, but no experience in e-commerce. The project stacked multiple challenges at once: getting something live before Frankfurt, launching a full ecommerce in a matter of months, operating across several European markets from day one, and connecting the store to their SAP Business One ERP and logistics operator to automate order management end to end.
Solution
We proposed a three-phase development to protect time-to-market. In under three weeks we had a landing page live to present the brand at Frankfurt. Over the following weeks we expanded it into a full website with a blog, multilingual content and GA4 tracking. For the ecommerce we chose Shopify for its native capabilities and integration ecosystem.
The most complex part was the technical integration: bidirectional sync with SAP Business One for products, orders and customers; connection with Amphora as the logistics operator for automated shipping management; and market configuration for Spain, France, Germany and Italy. We worked closely with Shad's SAP team to make the full circuit — from purchase to delivery — run without manual intervention.
Results
Shad Bikes arrived at the Frankfurt trade fair with an online presence, and the full ecommerce launched on schedule. Over the past year, sales have grown 136% and orders 130%. More than three years after the project started, we continue to support the platform as their internal team has gradually taken ownership of day-to-day operations.
